Words From a Dying Woman

My mother in her last days.

When I was at my sister's house in July, I started looking through some of my mother's belongings including may years of diaries. I opened one of them and found an entry that has stuck in my mind ever since I found it. I want to share the entry my 71 year old mother had written in her diary and wanted to live by until the end. She was very religious.

"... to organize my life and to be productive

1. Pray daily and read the scriptures
2. Empty one box or organize one area each day
3. Do one act of service each day
4. Go to bed and get up earlier
5. Write my goals down
6. Contact my children on a regular basis
7. Attend the temple regularly
8. Work on geneology
9. Organize photos
10. Write down family history
11. Exercise regularly

I am a child of God that was chosen to come to Earth at this time to use my unique gifts and talents to help and serve others. My Father has given me everything that I need to succeed toward my personal aspirations.

Set a least one daily goal. After 21 days of doing it this will become a habit. Write the date that this was completed and set another goal. Everyday we are tempted not to work on our goal; when we are tempted not to do what we are supposed to do, remember that the Holy Gost will give us strength and courage to do what is right in reaching our goals. Repeat as a mantra:" I am a child of God and Father will help me. I am a daughter of God and he loves me, and I love Him""
